After graduating from Skyline I served four years as a missionary for my congregation here in Salt Lake City and I worked part time jobs until I married Michele in 1974. We have two beautiful daughters, Hilary (1983) and Bailey (1986). I studied computer science at the U. of U. and went to work for Parker Hannifin in the I/T department and retired in 2016.

Best times:

July, 1972: three friends and I rode our "ten speeds" to Las Vegas to attend a religious convention, it took us five days including a detour through Zion Canyon and most of it felt like riding through Hell. We had to ride the last 150 miles from Hurricane to Las Vegas at night... we somehow survived the two-lane road in pitch black to Mesquite, from there it was the new I-15 to Las Vegas.

Skiing in Little Cottonwood Canyon at a brand new resort called Snowbird, we had season passes every year and went as often as we could.

We did a little rock climbing and managed to climb the two highest peaks in Wyoming: The Grand Teton and Gannet Peak in the Wind Rivers.

Then came the best part of our lives, we had two daughters. Good-bye season passes, good-bye rock climbing, hello mortgages, full time jobs, and the highest highs in life with our kids!

Now the kids are gone, we're both retired and we're looking forward to traveling a little bit. We went to Iceland in 2018 and this year we'll visit Italy where Michele's father and grandmother were born--her family still owns and lives in the same house. Later this year it's North to Alaska, and who knows after that.

We have two grandchildren: a couple of nuclear powered dogs, whom we love dearly. Both daughters tell us that's all we're going to get but we gently remind them "there's still time...."
