In Memory

John S. Searle

John S. Searle

John Searle

1951 ~ 2021

John Searle, our loving brother, uncle, father, and grandfather passed away on May 21, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. John was 69 years young.

John was born on July 4, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Charles T. Searle and Florence A. Searle in Salt Lake City, Utah. John is survived by his children: Jaron (wife Janelle) and Karon; his grandchildren: Zane and Lily; and his sisters: Cheryl (husband Pete) and Janet (husband Stan).

He graduated from Skyline High School in 1969, and John later completed a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Utah. He was a dedicated employee at Plumbers Supply/Ferguson for 30-years where he met many of his closest friends. John retired in 2018.

John was an avid lover of the outdoors with a passion for skiing, fishing, and all things 4 wheeling. He had a particular fondness for Moab, Utah. John's passion for restoring his 1973 Ford Bronco and blazing the trails of Moab earned him the nickname Bronco John. He enjoyed listening to his 1970's records with his son and watching his daughter ride horses. John was also a model train enthusiast, beginning as a child with his father, continuing with his children, and finally ending with his grandson Zane. Each Christmas trains filled John's entire living room.

As a devoted grandfather, John loved to take Zane on his adventures. He was the first to lend a helping hand, he had a contagious smile, was a prankster, and loved nothing more than a good homecooked meal alongside friends and family.

Please join us in remembering John on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
