Wendy Witkamp Obituary

Wendy Kimball Witkamp

1950 ~ 2023

Wendy Kimball Witkamp, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully departed this earthly world on March 30, 2023, while at home and surrounded by her family.

Wendy was born in Payson, Utah to parents Blane and LaRene Kimball. From birth, she had two heart defects and was given three years to live. President Russell M. Nelson performed life-saving heart surgery on her when she was 5 and 11 years old, and she enjoyed a happy childhood in Utah. She obtained her associate degree from BYU and LDS Business College. Wendy married her forever sweetheart, Nick in the Salt Lake temple, and they recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary and a lifetime of true love and commitment.

Throughout her life, Wendy held numerous callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she especially loved working with the young women, young single adults, and women of the church. She also loved serving as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. Wendy was a wonderful, Christ-like example. She loved and lived the gospel with all her heart.

Wendy lived a life of service and was always known for going out of her way to meet and befriend others. She loved welcoming people into her home and life, and many people lovingly called her "mom". She loved being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren by attending games, concerts, musicals, dance recitals, school events, and more. She was their biggest fan of all time! She truly loved being choir mom and being involved in all choir events.

Wendy loved reading books, enjoying music, and traveling. More than anything, Wendy loved being a grandma, wife, and mom, and her favorite thing was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She truly left a wonderful legacy of love, faith, and joy for her family.

Wendy is survived by her loving, eternal companion, Nick, and children Jeff (Heather), David (Linda), Nicole (Clark), Tiana, and Megan (Marcus), as well as 16 beautiful grandchildren (Ren, Sage, Malia, Cole, Aspen, Mason, Kim, Kayden, Payton, Andrew, Skyler, Emma, Ginger, Oliver, Kate, and Ellie), and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank the many people who have helped care for Wendy and showed their love throughout the years.
