The College of Engineering, sadly, has recently learned that Lynette Linden passed away at the end of April.

Lynette was an Assistant Professor of Manufacturing Engineering during the 80's, and was a regular instructor for SC 401 - Signals and Systems.

She was a talented teacher, and was recognized as the College of Engineering Professor of the Year in 1982. Unfortunately, she was struck down by schizophrenia in her prime years and was unable to continue working.

A memorial service for Lynette will be held at the MIT Chapel on Thursday afternoon, July 8th at 4pm. All are invited to attend this memorial service.

Donations will be used to further schizophrenia research, either at MIT or McLean depending on the wishes of her family and friends.

I was wondering when this happened.  She apparently passed away in 2004 according to the alumni notes.  So sad.  Rest dear friend.

I remember Lynette as one of the most beautiful women in school, and also the only person that could type faster than I could.

She was always considered a 'brainiac' which I think was intimidating for most of the guys.

Was sorry to hear of her passing.
