Dr. B. Scott Brewster, 51, gently passed away in his home in Provo, Utah, April 10, 2003 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was surrounded by many who loved him, and was upheld by the prayers and support of many more throughout the country and the world.

He was born April 25, 1951 in Salt Lake City the oldest child of Blair and Bonnie Brewster. He graduated from Skyline High School where he was a Sterling Scholar in Math. Scott joined the Air Force Reserves, and then from 1969-1971 served a mission in Central Japan for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He mar-ried C. Elaine Carr in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Nov 27, 1974 and had six beautiful children. He graduated from the University of Utah cum laude with a Ph D in Chemical Engineering and worked at Brigham Young University for 18 years. He was currently employed as Staff Engineer by Autoliv, Inc, Ogden, UT where he was able to use his technical Japanese skills in the auto industry.

Scott was a faithful member of the LDS church, having been an Elders Quorum president, Primary teacher, and a devoted home teacher. Scott was an active person who enjoyed skiing, camping and the outdoors. He was passionate about racquetball, competing in many tournaments where he won several first place titles. He also loved music and storytelling, performing often in schools and at the Timpanogos and Weber Story Telling Festivals. Scott was skilled at playing the hammered dulcimer, guitar and banjo, and fulfilled his musical dream of creating a family band which performed throughout Utah, the West, and Canada for 10 years, and created five musical albums.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughters, Sara E. Simpson (Allen), Katie Brewster; sons, Benjamin S. Brewster (Lindsey), Jacob C. Brewster (Jenise), Aaron L. Brewster, Matthew S. Brewster; mother, Bonnie Bytheway Brewster Miller (Lorin); sister, Lani B. Heldt (Kurt); brothers, Dr. M. Quinn Brewster (Linda), C. Chip Brewster (Janiene), Marty S. Brewster (Alissa); and three grandchildren, Courtney, Brandon Brewster, Davis Simpson. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Blair H. Brewster.
